Longstone Local History GroupThe Longstone Local History Group have a regular programme of events (usually in the Village Hall on the 3rd Tuesday of the month). They have published a number of booklets of local interest including Robert Thornhill's "Longstone Notes", "Aspects of 19th Century Longstone" and "Memories of The Second World War". A major project being undertaken by the group during 2005 is the production of a Village Video. There is a interesting collection of information about Longstone on the GENUKI website. part of Wardlow, Rowland (from mid 19th century) and Hassop (from
c1910). Originally parochial chapelry in parish of Bakewell. Became separate parish 1852. No entries for baptisms, burials 1743-1764, marriages 1740-1754
