Cressbrook Film Club

Our club's constitution formally states our aims:

'to bring an eclectic mix of films to our rural area, to both adults and children, providing a much needed community resource in an area with no current local provision that is accessible to and affordable for all. We wish to promote film as an art form, and as a medium for information, education, and enjoyment. The Club shall have the power to promote the study and appreciation of films by means of lectures, discussions and exhibitions.'

In practice this means that we run a main season of films each year with a range of extra activities when time and finances allow.  We have also put on documentary nights with a local film-maker showing his work and also screened a children's film for Litton School last year.

We are run by volunteers and members are encouraged to get involved in any way they can - including choosing our films!  Got a good idea?  Please get in touch.
