Longstone (Church of England) Primary School

First records of a school in Great Longstone date back to 1667, when a Mr. Henricus Dooley was Headmaster. The current school, originally built in 1862, underwent major extension work in 1971 and again in 1999.

It now provides excellent accommodation for up to six classes, with a computer centre, music practice room, library and new sports hall. Outside there is a large playground, sports field, pond and conservation area.
